Course Objectives:

  • Understand the Geographic Information Systems
  • Use at least one GIS software
  • Place and digitize data on geographical coordinates such as maps, satellite images and aerial photographs
  • Place any coordinate data gathered in the field on the GIS system to visualize and analyze. 

Course Description: This course provides an introduction to GIS principles and applications. GIS is a large and diverse field, thus only selected methods will be covered. This course is computer based application lecture, so students must bring their own computers.
