Course Objectives:
- Understand the Geographic Information Systems
- Use at least one GIS software
- Place and digitize data on geographical coordinates such as maps, satellite images and aerial photographs
- Place any coordinate data gathered in the field on the GIS system to visualize and analyze.
Course Description: This course provides an introduction to GIS principles and applications. GIS is a large and diverse field, thus only selected methods will be covered. This course is computer based application lecture, so students must bring their own computers.
