Course Highligts: This course features a 2 week geology field camp around Muğla area.

Course Description: This course is based on a 2 week geology mapping exercise. Students form groups of 4-5 person and are expected to prepare a full geological report for a pre-defined area of 10-20 km2 size. The full report will include detailed descriptions and evaluations of the geology of the area and a geological map.

Field Trip Calendar

The field camp will be held from 22 June 2019 to 5 July 2019. Departures will be daily at 8:30 from the Engineering Faculty parking area.

Tools

Students are expected to bring their course materials on each trip. Besides if you have a smartphone, install the below mentioned applications on your device.

Course materials:

  • Field notebook
  • Colour Pencils (set of 12)
  • Ruler (min 30cm in length)
  • Triangle protractor
  • 2 x Pencil (HB, B)
  • Needle-point pencil (≤ 0.5)
  • Soft rubber/eraser
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Transparent papers (10 pages)
  • Squared paper (millimetric, 10 pages)
  • Clipboard with cover
